AQUASEAL
Let me explain a little about the company. The directors started the company in 1991. They first saw roofs being coated in Australia. Although they could see it was a good concept they were not convinced the coating in Australia would be suitable to the damp climate in this country. The main reason for this was that the Australian version of the coating was an oil based paint and if you look at any puddle on the street with oil in it you can see that oil and water just doesn’t mix.
The directors then heard about another coating being used in Canada. This appealed to them for several reasons, the first being that at that time the coating had been on roofs for some 28 years giving the coating an excellent track record in harsher conditions than here. Secondly, it wasn’t an oil-based paint; it was a water-based polyurethane this meant we could coat roofs all year. Waterbased coatings can be applied to damp tiles because water and water does mix. Thirdly, there was not a drop of this coating being used in the UK so the directors took it on with the understanding that they would have sole rights for the coating and since then the company has went from strength to strength. On average three new jobs are generated from every one job the company carries out. A roof has an effective way of marketing itself as it is there for all to see.
